Elephant Jungle Sanctuary ภูเก็ต

The elephants at the sanctuary in Phuket were an incredible experience, not only because I encountered them in a natural, free environment rather than a zoo but also due to the exceptional British tour guide. He shared fascinating insights about the elephants, their treatment in a free-roaming sanctuary, and allowed us to feed and photograph them up close. He also raised awareness about the challenges elephants face in Thailand, emphasizing the need for financial support and responsible tourism. Importantly, he addressed the sensitive issue of elephants kept in chains for tourist rides and entertainment, explaining that these elephants are not at fault. In fact, these elephants also need support to improve their living conditions. Avoiding such places entirely may not be the solution, as these elephants still require care and resources. The individual stories of the elephants were deeply moving and left a lasting impression on me. Supporting all elephants in Thailand, regardless of their circumstances, is essential. Let’s stand with them—they truly need our help.
