Che Kung Miu

Make a wish for safe travels, good health, fortune, and wealth at this famous Hong Kong temple, renowned even in Thailand. With a history of over 300 years, the temple features gleaming golden statues lining both sides of its halls. It is a sacred place known for its belief in the power of windmills. The four blades of the windmill symbolize safe travels, longevity, wealth, and the fulfillment of all wishes. It is believed that turning the windmill clockwise three times will blow away bad luck and bring good fortune into your life.

Wong Tai Sin Temple

Seek blessings from Wong Tai Sin, who is believed to "grant every wish." Pay homage to Cai Shen Ye, the God of Wealth, who brings prosperity and fortune. The temple is famous for its blessings of wealth, prosperity, and success, helping devotees achieve all that they wish for.

Tin Hau Temple, Repulse Bay

This is one of Hong Kong's oldest and most significant temples. In the past, Hong Kong was a fishing village, and the fishermen revered the goddess Tin Hau as the Goddess of the Sea. Besides worshiping Tin Hau for safe travels, a key highlight of the temple is the large red incense coils hanging from the ceiling inside the temple’s hall. They create a stunning effect when the red light shines through the spirals of smoke, making for a unique and captivating sight.

Hung Hom Kwun Yam Temple

This temple is renowned for the sacred power of the Goddess of Mercy (Kwun Yam). Built in 1873, the temple features traditional Chinese architectural design. It is famous for the "Borrowing Money from the Gods" ritual, believed to bring wealth and prosperity, with money and gold flowing in abundance. While the temple holds a special festival for this ritual, visitors can also perform the ceremony on regular days to ask for financial blessings.

Man Mo Temple

Man Mo Temple is famous for granting blessings related to academic success. In the past, scholars would frequently come to pray before taking the imperial exams. The temple is dedicated to Man Tai, the God of Literature, and Mo Tai, the God of War, both of whom are believed to be highly sacred. Worshiping here is said to bring success in education and good fortune in life.

Chi Lin Nunnery

Chi Lin Nunnery resembles traditional Japanese temples, with a lotus pond in front of the building symbolizing Buddhism. The interior is beautifully adorned with gold and wood. As you walk through the temple grounds, you'll feel a sense of tranquility, setting it apart from other Chinese temples in Hong Kong.

Nan Lian Garden

Nan Lian Garden is a serene and meticulously landscaped garden designed in the classical Tang Dynasty style. Located near Chi Lin Nunnery, the garden features beautifully arranged trees, rock formations, and ponds, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. It is a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering a perfect place for relaxation and contemplation.

Guan Yu Temple

Guan Yu Temple is a sacred place where people in Shenzhen come to pray for success in their careers, especially civil servants. The deity Guan Yu symbolizes loyalty, integrity, bravery, and fortune. He is also seen as a representation of determination, righteousness, and courage.
