Information
Joy Elephant Sanctuary, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, was founded with the goal of developing a bond between humans, elephants, and the environment. Founded as a collaboration between the Karen Hill Tribe and a group of passionate individuals who want to see elephants treated with joy, love, and care.
There are 3 programs available for spending a day with elephants at Joy Elephant Sanctuary:
- Half Day Morning Program (08:30-12:00 hrs.) - You will get to feed elephants, observe them bathing or mud bathing, taste herbal tea, play in waterfalls, and make a souvenir yourself.
- Half Day Afternoon Program (14:00-17:30 hrs.) - Just like the Half Day Morning Program, you will have the opportunity to feed elephants, watch them bathing or mud bathing, taste herbal tea, play in waterfalls, and create your own souvenir.
- Full Day Program (10:00-15:30 hrs.) - Apart from feeding elephants and observing their bathing or mud bathing, you will get to join in planting seedlings or cutting grass, make herbal medicine balls for elephants, check their health, sample herbal tea, play in waterfalls, and make your own souvenir.

Amazing experience! Feeding the elephant and watching them around the waterfalls while we enjoyed a pad Thai were my favourite parts.
