Firstly, the pool area is absolutely stunning—it’s like a little paradise with beautiful landscapes and plenty of space to relax and unwind. The entire ambiance of the hotel is just breathtaking; you can feel the attention to detail everywhere, from the decor to the well-kept gardens. The rooms are large, spacious, and impeccably clean.

What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the amazing staff. Every single person, from the waiters to the kitchen staff and housekeeping, is incredibly friendly and always greets you with a smile. It’s clear that they genuinely enjoy their work, and it really adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. A small tip is always appreciated, and it’s nice to see how much effort everyone puts into making your stay special. I would especially like to thank both Ahmeds from Grand Palace!

The food here is also top-notch. The buffet restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, and if you’re in the mood for something different, there are five à la carte restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend trying the Asian restaurant; the flavors and presentation were simply outstanding. It’s definitely a must-visit if you’re staying here.

Despite the size of the hotel, it never feels overcrowded. The layout is very spacious, so even when it’s busy, you still have plenty of room to enjoy the facilities without feeling cramped. The beach is equally lovely, with clear blue waters and a perfect spot to relax and take in the sun.

The hotel itself is lovely and has many good qualities, but I have to warn you about one thing: Do not use the taxi service provided by the hotel! We got completely ripped off and scammed.

The fixed price from the airport to the hotel is 20 euros – for a trip that only takes about five minutes. The price is absolutely outrageous. Normally, you could take an Uber, which would cost around two euros. The only issue is that you can’t always be sure how reliable Uber is in this area. That’s why I highly recommend booking a ride through Booking.com instead. I did this for the return trip, and it was a great experience: I paid eight euros and had a brand-new bus all to myself. Compared to the transfer we had through the hotel, it was a world of difference. The hotel taxi was old, we had to squeeze in tightly, and there was hardly any space.

The worst part came when we arrived at the hotel. The driver was extremely rude and even begged us for more money. He claimed he had waited for us for two and a half hours because our flight was delayed – even though we had provided the flight number. Instead of being flexible and arriving a bit later, he blamed us and practically tried to squeeze more money out of us. He was very pushy, bothering my mother, my aunt, and my cousin, and became really unpleasant. I’ve rarely experienced such rudeness.

My conclusion: Avoid the hotel taxi service at all costs! There are much better and cheaper alternatives out there. I highly recommend booking a transfer through Booking.com. The driver was super nice, punctual, and reliable. If you’re feeling lucky, you could try using Uber, but my tip remains Booking.com. This way, you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle and avoid starting your holiday on a sour note.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at the Grand Palace Hotel. The beautiful setting, great food, and outstanding service made for an unforgettable stay. Thank you to the entire team for making this trip so special—I can’t wait to come back!

Incredible experience from start to finish (except of the taxi transfer organized by the hotel - see comments)!

The hotel is old and worn out. Compared to Sharm this is not at all worth considering as a vacation spot.
Here is quite dirty everywhere. There is a big cleaning staff, but e.g. the water in the buckets is almost black from dirt. So the do not clean, but spread dirt around.
In the World Restaurant the tables are dirty with food and drinks from other guests. And the extra not nice surprise for us (allergic), was there is a lot of wild carts on the hotel and the are also in the restaurant, going from table to table to 'ask' for food.
The aricon in the room was smelling bad, like old food bad. Need cleaning for bacteria.
The hotel is not a 5 star hotel. It has some nice pool areas, but the rest was not nice at all.

Never go to this hotel if you like things to be clean and in order

We have stayed before (see my more detailed review with tips, pros, cons etc for May 2024). Our first stay we felt like we were staying with family and being treated like royalty, when we returned in October 24 we got the same treatment but even better because the staff remembered us and what we drink, they were genuinely happy to see us again and made us feel so welcome. 

The food standards were excellent in all the restaurants, the new Mexican down by the seafront was very tasty, the Indochina is a favourite of ours, the staff are highly focused on hospitality and making you feel special, the views from the restaurant are spectacular. The international restaurant is also very nice, and the Italian does a lovely pizza too. You need to book these in advance at reception, I never fail to find something really tasty in the main buffet, you may struggle if you expect chicken nuggets, beans, bacon, and burgers and you will not be served any pork products. I recommend you have a walk round and sample things before loading your plate. The salads are all safe and really tasty, the shawarma is lovely and there are french fries if that's your thing but, I really recommend trying something new and you'll find it's full of flavour and fresh ingredients.

The Palace is a lovely tranquil place, most guests respect this and it's frequented mostly by Germans who are 40+ looking for a quiet, chilled out holiday, the pool area is nice and our drinks are usually served by the lovely Mohammed al deeb. The beach is clean and the water is actually warmer than the pool.

Our room was serviced by the lovely Arab and Shazly, who made our bed up with lovely towel art each day and greeted us with their lovely smiles.
I can highly recommend a visit to the jewellers in reception, Haini, who has a great sense of humour and I now count as a friend due to his kindness, will give you a good deal on the high quality silver pieces, if there is something you want but can't see, its worth asking as he can often source it during your stay. I took a few broken and ill fitting rings with me and I got them back invisibly repaired, sized and looking shiny and new for a very good price. The shops on site and part of the Palace strip outside are worth a visit too, the haggling is less aggressive than elsewhere and everything is reasonable compared to EU prices. Don't overlook the pharmacy opposite as they stock some good creams and lotions or Egyptian remedies for dodgy tummy (which is usually due to hand related germs, heat stroke or drinking cold drinks too fast in the heat, the food is rarely the source).

The massage I received at the spa was perfect and helped me with my spine condition, they really listened and treated me accordingly. I can highly recommend them. You will meet Mona and Nour walking around taking bookings. They both do top notch beauty treatments also.

We booked a 2 day private Luxor tour with the Red Sea rep, worth every penny, breathtaking trip of a lifetime. There is a good range of excursions available, we used Red sea this time because the cheaper alternatives with get your guide who we used last trip were a nightmare to deal with. Can highly recommend a trip out to the New Marina at night, we have a friend that works there and met him for dinner at one of the many top notch themed restaurants.

We have already booked to return to the Palace next year, we have never used a hotel more than once before anywhere, our next stay will be our 3rd, that in itself is testament to how good the Grand Palace and it's entire team of staff are. We would like to thank them all once again for another lovely stay.

My only gripe is the western smooth jazz played in the restaurants and bars, I think some ambient Arabic music would be far better and more fitting for a stay in an upmarket Egyptian hotel, than Kenny G type lift music.

2nd Stay as good as the first

Spent 10 days at the Grand Palace in September. Only 10 minutes from Airport, but you could not hear aeroplanes at the hotel. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. They work ethic is superb. The guys on the beach must have walked miles in a day, geting drinks from the bar. Adhem and another guy, sorry did not get his name where great at looking after us at the beach. Eslam Saleim the bar man was so nice and friendly and made sure we alwalys had a drink and some crisps and nuts. I would highly recommend the Vienna cafe/bar. The coffee and cakes are to die for! Mustafa who was in charge of it was so lovely and he makes the best cocktails! Also I would highly recommend the Indochina restaurant, the food was delicious. Hany Hassan was in charge of this restaurant and was just so nice and helpful. We had a swim up junior suite room which was lovely. Our cleaner Mahamod looked after us cleaning our room and makng sure our everything was in order. Topping up our mini bar fridge daily. The beds and pillows were so comfy we slept like logs!. We gave tips to the staff daily as they so deserve it as they work long hours and are always smiling.  I would highly recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing hoilday.  Willie and Julie Scotland.

Had a wonderful relaxing hoilday.

From the very moment the car pulled up outside, we were treated like king and queen of the palace. The whole experience was superb no job is too much for every member of staff.
The rooms are so spacious and plenty of storage space. Honey our daily cleaner was very precise in all he did. Towel animals were second to none. 
The restaurants give you a great selection of perfectly cooked food. Lots of choice always hot if needed and cold when required. 
Hany in the indochina restaurant is a man on a mission to give you the best evening ever in his restaurant.
Every member of staff work so hard and give you the whole of themselves shows how much they want you to be happy on your vacation. Very German oriented but do not let that put you off its 10 out of 10.
