Koh Samui is on the coast of the lower Gulf of Thailand. The best time to visit is from April to mid-October. And the monsoon period will be from mid-October to March. It is recommended to avoid the monsoon season when visiting the sea since it the sea storms can get very dangerous.

However, during the high season, snorkeling and scuba diving is definitely a must-do thing if you are ever in Koh Samui. There are so many snorkeling trips and scuba dive sites to explore.

An archipelago surrounded by as many as 42 islands, Koh Samui highlights include is Talay Nai, a lake in the middle of the mountain where there's a guide to take you snorkeling and kayaking around the island at points of interest. You can go up to see the 360-degree view from the viewpoint on the top of the island as well. Most of the area is steep limestone which requires a tour guide to take you up. 2. Koh Tao, Koh Nangyuan, Koh Phangan

3. Madsum Island, Taen Island

  • Sail rock, also known as Hin Bai is one of the dives that scuba divers should not miss. It is close to Koh Tao located between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, and it is here that visitors will dive into deep water and endure a rocky tunnel down to a depth of roughly 30 meters.
  • Chumphon has three greatest diving locations which are Koh Ngam Yai, Koh Ngam Noi (HTMS Prab), and Hin Lak Ngam. Each of these dive destinations is distinct in its own right, with stunning coral reefs. You can't go to Chumphon and not visit them.
  • Dive Site White Rock Scuba diving is quite popular in Koh Tao. Dive down to view the structure of the white rock stacks stacked in layers, which make up coral reefs and numerous water life gathered in the white rock.
